Keeping your heart healthy during the heat!

With daytime temperatures in the mid to high 90’s and “feels like” temps into the 100’s, it is especially important for you to be careful and exercise caution when outdoors during the day, ESPECIALLY if you are a heart patient, over 50 or overweight.  Besides the regular precautions that we all know (yet, sometimes don’t actually do) such as keeping hydrated with water, wearing sunscreen and light clothes, and taking rest breaks, there are other factors that can inhibit your heat tolerance.   Check out this great article from the American Heart Association.   It also lists symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.   STAY COOL!!
